It is one of the best hiking trails of the island, since on its biggest part it offers a magnificent view of Chora –this is why we suggest that you start from Kallitsos village. The trail begins from the asphalt road, although the “formal” start is within the village, 200 meters lower. At first the trail is a quite uphill, but soon enough, as you reach to the post “Vounaki”, the panoramic view towards the beaches of Ai Giannis, Psili Ammos and the barren islet of Vous, will compensate your effort.

The trail remains clear and open, passing by the chapel of Pano Stavros (Upper Cross) and then by the chapels of Kato Stavros (Lower Cross) and Agios Stefanos (St. Stephan). It continues to the “Palio Pigadi” post where there is a stone bridge over the stream, while on the right side you will see an old stone building with a spring that used to supply the locals with water. The trail then becomes an uphill dirt road, passes between houses and ends to the Windmills Square, in Pano Chora.
